Reporting to the Chief Geotechnical Engineer you will be responsible for anticipating and predicting the onset of future problem areas by the use of seismicity patterns as well as scrutinizing the working mine plans and identifying possible challenges, setting up a plan of action and documenting and advising management of potential threats.

With guidance by the Chief Rock Mechanics Engineer you will be further upskilled in advanced computer modeling analysis, interpreting seismic events, and mine planning. In addition you will examine and if necessary re-establish the criteria for use of the different mining methods and support whilst liaising with production personnel and service departments.
